What a charming little thing this is. A Victorian-era (so 19th century) crumb tray and horsehair brush. British in origin, the brush is stamped 'Forbes Newcastle'. This was used to clear debris and crumbs from the dining table. Small and discreet, the oak tray comes with a brass handle. Acquired from a lady who had owned it for 25+ years.

What’s the story?
Wooden bottle crates like this date from the 1960s and as the Schweppes branding on the sides tells you, it was used for soft drinks deliveries, back in the day when bottles were collected and returned. Nowadays, these sturdy, well-made boxes have all manner of uses in the home for storing stuff! It could be put to good use in any room and also be a stylish, retro container for your doorstep deliveries.

What’s the story?
We've a huge soft spot for this galloping colt print by Chinese artist, Xu Beihong. It's so full of energy and movement. It's a signed, lithograph print, framed at some point over the years. The simple black frame is a little scuffed here and there but nothing hugely noticeable and certainly nothing that takes your eye off the horse. Utterly charming.

Made by renowned pottery studio, Briglin, it was founded by two women, Brigitte Goldsmith and Eileen Mawson in the 1960s. It's expertly thrown and glazed, hand-painted with an abstract, pale blue bamboo pattern on both sides.

A pretty, little jug for cream, posies or dry stems. It's adorned with an abstract dragon fly motif, synonymous with Andrew Hague. Variations on this theme can be found throughout his work from Askrigg Pottery, his studio where much of his work is produced. We love the colour palette of this piece with bands of blues and greens on a pale base.

This little mid-century ceramic is such a sweetie. We love its small, round-bellied form, perfect for a single dramatic bloom or seed head. This may well be Welsh in origin, an Abaty Cymru studio pottery piece as the hand-rendered circular motifs were a signature design of this period. it does have a potter's stamp but we've been unable to attribute it definitively. Beautifully thrown with a speckled glaze finish.

There's a very good chance this is an Abaty Cymru studio pottery piece, as the round swirl motif is seen on many vases, jugs and bowls from there. A well-thrown, medium-sized vase with handpainted circles within circles of brown glaze in a band around its body. It's chunky and substantial, in great original order and full of vintage character.

Not all midcentury West German pottery pieces are equal in our view but we love the simple elegance, colour and design of this particular piece. Weighty and large enough to be set on the floor, we love the exaggerated roundness of the handle and the texture of the speckle glaze. It's topped and tailed in a chocolate brown which vignettes into pale cream in between.

This is a little charmer. Dating from the early 20th century, it's a pretty oak sewing table / box. Lift the lid to find a spacious compartment for your latest projects. And below there is a slim drawer designed for spools of thread. It comes with a range of its original contents... needle cases, fastenings, buttons and wooden reels. We love the long cabriole legs.
