Our Story
Founded by Rachel & Karl, Vintage Curiosities scratches an itch to source & sell original & unusual secondhand homeware items. Our home is filled with these precious things & we want to pass it on. From thoughtful artwork to beautiful decorative objects to industrial pieces to the downright weird & wonderful, with over 15 years experience in the midcentury furniture business, we wanted to carve out a little niche for smaller curios collected from anywhere in the past 200 years.

We are inspired too by Jim and Helen Ede’s approach to how they curated the items in their inspirational home at Kettle’s Yard, where artwork is displayed next to pebbles & plants accent sculptures. All kinds of objects should be valued & loved on an equal footing. Our homes & the things within should be enriching & interesting.

With fifteen years in furniture design, Maria blends Scandinavian heritage with global influences. She believes the best furniture design happens when form, function, and feeling unite.
Erik Johannsen
Leading our production with three decades of woodworking experience, Erik ensures every piece meets our standards. His deep understanding of wood and joinery helps translate designs into enduring furniture.

Our wood comes exclusively from FSC-certified forests, ensuring healthy forest ecosystems. We prioritize local sourcing when possible, reducing transportation impacts while supporting regional craftspeople.
